General Position Description: 
Successful candidate will be working closely with fellow staff in a one-room, self-paced, continuation model.

Qualifications: 
Requires a current California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in subjects that are appropriate for an alternative school setting, as well as appropriate certification for teaching English Language Learners. East High is seeking a dedicated educator with the ability to work collaboratively with a departmental team and become an active member of the school community. DOJ Fingerprinting and TB Clearance must be obtained prior to employment at the expense of the applicant. 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual Ability (English/Spanish) is Highly Desirable
Single Subject English Credential or Multiple Subject with English Supplemental Authorization
Recent training or experience in dealing with the educational needs associated with students in an alternative setting is highly desirable.

    For the position of Host: The ideal candidate loves making small talk with customers and is willing to learn patrons' names in our small-town establishment. They should be willing to bus and assist servers and bartender to keep up with busy shifts. Some back-of-house assistance might be needed, such as inspecting/cleaning restrooms. If you love the restaurant business and genuinely enjoy people, we want to hear from you.

    For the position of Server: The ideal candidate is a skilled multi-tasker who ensures that guests have a positive and memorable experience at our Pub and Restaurant. They will be responsible for answering guest questions about our beers, menu, daily specials and novelty items. If you have previous experience as a Server and a dedication to providing excellent service to customers, we want to hear from you.

    Host Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
    • Greet customers as soon as they walk through the door
    • Provide patrons with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods
    • Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment
    • Seat guests and take initial drink orders as needed to ensure ideal speed of service
    • Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed
    • Learn beer, food and beverage menu
    • Rotate seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for wait staff

    Host Qualifications
    • Flexible schedule, particularly for weekend/evening shifts
    • Previous customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
    • Ability to work 6+ hours on your feet at a time
    • Advanced time management experience
    • Friendly, open disposition
    • Team player who looks for ways to help other employees whenever needed
    • Willingness to work holidays

    Server Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
    • Take customers' food and drink orders
    • Ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
    • Suggest beer, appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
    • Work closely with restaurant management to immediately address all customer concerns and maintain a pleasant dining experience
    • Confirm orders with the chefs and bartender whenever a clarification is requested
    • Assist with setting and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties
    • Build rapport with customers and provide them with a genuine, friendly and welcoming dining experience
    • Able to make suggestive sells and upsell novelty to customers based on the items they have chosen

    Server Qualifications
    • At least 18 years of age
    • 2+ years' Server experience preferred
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Ability to work 6+ hours on your feet at a time
    • Excellent people skills and outgoing personality

    Job Details GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for the management of all employees in the effective planning and implementation of all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support.

    DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed. Provide proper training for employees conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination. Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement. Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinate meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies. Ensure that the store is appropriately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day. Personally open the store a minimum of two times per week; personally close the store a minimum of two times per week. Evaluate operating statements to identify business trends (including sales, profitability, and turn), expense control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors. Order to ensure the meeting or exceeding of in-stock targets; review ordering plan, seasonal direction and inventory management issues on a weekly basis; follow up on Basic Stock Replenishment (BSR)/cycle counts. Facilitate the efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise by following defined company work processes. Ensure that all merchandise is presented according to established practices; utilize merchandise fixtures properly including presentation, product pricing and signage. Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls. Ensure the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to stated company security practices and cash control procedures. Provide superior customer service leadership. Maintain a clean, well-organized store; facilitate a safe and secure working and shopping environment. Ensure that store is adequately equipped with tools necessary to perform required tasks. Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and company communications; ensure employee compliance.     Qualifications KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages. Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control. Ability to perform IBM cash register functions to generate reports. Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes.
